As a photographer here in America I was delighted when a photographer of the caliber of Bharat Mirchandani took an interest in my work. I was doubly delighted and honoured when he asked me to contribute a few words to his website. From his days as a young boy, fascinated by the images in Life Magazine, he has devoted his life to the art of photography. Schooled in art and art history and obtaining an unquestioned mastery of the technical aspects of the art of photography, he brings to his work a dedication that few other photographers can equal. His personal work reveals a deep empathy for the human condition and his love for his fellow man. This understanding and finely honed skill of observation is what allows him to instinctively capture those all important moments that will mean so much in the future to his wedding photography clients. For his product and food photography he brings to bear an absolute skill in lighting and composition which is sure to show his subject to the best advantage possible. Bharat is also an accomplished chef and his love of fine food and dining is obvious in the care that he brings to his work in food photography. In this day and age of cheap digital photography done by so-called ?professional? photographers it is easy to be misled by the unskilled amateur passing himself off as a ?pro?. Bharat is a highly skilled artist of the first order. His gentle critique of my own work has meant a great deal to me and has made me a much better photographer, and I am honored to be allowed to give this short testimony to his skill.-Stephen Cooper, Baltimore MD.
